So much good, such little bad. The makeup effects in this film were so gruesome and intense. Bella's weakened and fragile body was hard to look at. Yes some of the scenes dealing with bodily harm were dramatic but she was like 2lbs, cmon. Jacob's character finally had some common sense thrown at him, and to be honest, he kinda had a redemption arc in this one. Seeing him and Edward team up together was a sick touch. Rosalie got some sense of motherhood which was beautiful and very needed for her character. I love watching the end of this movie, it is cool to see Bella's body transform into a vampire.
Conflicting review to write... overall it was ehh, but man those death scenes were cruel! I had pushed off watching this movie because of that specific island scene and I thought I skipped over it and did not and tears flooded my eyes. Aside from that, I was kinda bored. Good film to just have in the background.
A solid watch. This one really humanized some characters a little more. Rosalie shared her background, a big reason why she does not get along with Bella, and it changes how the previous encounters were interpreted. The council scene with Jacob's pack was also very comforting, it is probably the only scene in the saga that makes me want Bella to choose Jacob. But then he fucks it up.... in the end, I am still #TeamEdward 🍎
